It's a shame but none of the idiots who are wrecking our energy systems will be held properly accountable; not the politicians, not the activists and not the business people who are going along with this - many of them are making good money along the way. People still believe that W&S are cheap but they overlook all the points you make and the fact that they are parasitic and only survive off the back fossil fuel and nuclear. This is also in the face of record high bills - our UK politicians are going into overdrive that it is all Putin's fault.

I interpret the CA-ISO report of 24 December this way. Since in the public mind, renewable energy means wind and solar, one should not group them with other sources having different characteristics. Therefore, the actual fraction of California's electricity produced by renewables is 16.5% of the claimed 82%, that is 1.4%.
